STAY: Bisma Eight
Settle in, explore the town (Farmers Market, Gaya Ceramics, Ikat Batik, art galleries)
Monkey Forest Sanctuary – This is obviously a tourist trap, but we LOVED it. When else do you get to wander through a forest full of monkeys
Bittersweet for Lunch – we stumbled upon Bittersweet and loved the atmosphere and shop attached to it. We had a great meal and mid-day cocktails.
Relax by the pool
6:00PM Dinner – Hujan Locale (we didn’t end up going, opting for room service and an early night but we heard great things!)
6:15AM Champuhan Ridge Walk for sunrise (before the crowds) – We walked the entire ridge and it was the most serene experience. We encountered very few tourists. In fact, we crossed paths with one of the staff members of the hotel we were staying and he invited us into his family’s home to give us a tour and talk about life in Ubud. The hospitality here is next level!
11:45 – 3:00 Karsa Spa (90 Min Intuitive Heart Massage, 90 Min Scrub and Flower Bath) – I TOOK A BATH IN FLOWERS AND IT WAS MAGICAL. Highly recommended.
4:00 Cooking Class – We book cooking classes in every place we travel – our favorite thing is coming home and remaking the meal for friends to bring a little of that culture home with us. Being invited into someone’s home and experiencing their kitchen is such a beautiful way to learn from and interact with locals. I’m telling you – the best memories are made around the table!
7:30AM Pickup for Horse ride and waterfall trek (Ubud Horse Stables) – We actually don’t recommend this for anyone else (You win some you lose some). We were prepared to be whisked away to a romantic adventure, and it was slightly more ‘rugged’ than intended. Also possibly the smallest, most mosquito-y waterfall I’ve ever seen. We laugh about this day so much when we think back on our trip, and honestly wouldn’t trade it, but there’s much more to see and do!
Shop at the markets and stores – I bought a dress to wear to dinner that night. My favorite way to treat myself when traveling.
3:00PM Free time / Pool
7:30PM Locavore dinner – Our FAVORITE meal of the trip. An incredible coursed dining experience with such innovative dishes. You must go!
Sunrise yoga at the rooftop (Bisma Eight)
9:30 Daytrip car service to Canggu
Lunch at the Lawn, Shop and explore
Afternoon by the pool & beach
Late dinner and drinks La Brisa – The party beach town vibe, super fun for one night out
Run on the beach
9AM Breakfast: Peleton Supershop for epic smoothie bowls
*ATM to get cash for Nusa Lemongan – we recommend bringing cash – there are few ATM’s on the island, and cash is king there!
10AM pick up from resort
12 Boat to Nusa Lembongan
Stay: 353 Degrees North Private Villa – I AM SCREAMING AT YOU THROUGH THE COMPUTER TO BOOK THIS VILLA. IT WAS BREATHTAKING. THE BEST DECISION WE MADE THIS ENTIRE TRIP. It comes staffed with the most incredible team of people that are truly there for anything and everything you could need – worth every penny.
1PM Arrival & Check in at Villa
Head to Mushroom Bay & Dream Beach
Grabbed an easy dinner at a local place we stumbled on
Private boat tour & Snorkeling with Manta Rays – YOU HAVE TO DO THIS. This is by far the best snorkeling either of us have ever done. The colors are next level, and while the Manta Rays did scare the crap out of me – it was a once in a lifetime experience and I’m so happy we did it.
Afternoon drinks and poolside lounging at Ohana’s
Dress up for drinks at The Howff (at the Batu Karang resort & Day spa)
Guided day trip to Nusa Ceningan (Blue Lagoon) & Nusa Penida (Crystal Bay Beach) – this is where we did feel like tourists, which is truly not our favorite thing when traveling – but I am happy we got to see these beautiful places! And really enjoyed laughing along the BUMPY back roads with our driver. We love meeting new people and hearing their stories.
Lounge by the villa pool
Dinner with a private chef in the villa on our final night – a special treat to cap off an unforgettable trip
Slow last morning
4:30 Boat back to mainland
